Anti-Exploitation Policy
Our stance on trafficking, harm reduction, and the right to safe, autonomous work
Last updated: May 14, 2026
Our position
TheOtherBoard is vehemently opposed to every form of exploitation and harm. Modern slavery, human trafficking, and labour trafficking are abhorrent crimes that disproportionately fall on the most vulnerable people in our communities — migrants, people of colour, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
We are committed to acting ethically and to building a culture that supports harm reduction, human rights, transparency, and accountability in everything we do. We believe every adult has the right to autonomy, to safe working conditions, and to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.
What we do to fight exploitation
Informed, adult-only consent
This Platform does not target — and will never target — anyone under the age of 18. Users under 18 are not permitted to advertise, use, or appear on the Platform under any circumstance.
Supporting organisations grounded in harm reduction
We believe that working with marginalised individuals comes with a responsibility to provide real-world support beyond simply raising awareness. We will direct our expertise and contributions toward organisations that base their work on the principles of harm reduction, that operate on the ground supporting people at risk of exploitation, and that advocate for legislative changes proven to reduce exploitation — including the full decriminalisation of sex work.
Community-driven policy
We work alongside experts, advocates, and members of our community in the anti-trafficking, anti-exploitation, and human-rights space to produce the best possible policy outcomes for our users. We rely on credible research from respected, authoritative organisations and we treat policy as a living document rather than a finished one.
Active moderation
Moderation matters most when it is grounded in lived experience. We hire from within our community so that moderation decisions are made with a nuanced understanding of the challenges, circumstances, and sensitivities our users face — and so that we can offer appropriate support, not just enforcement.
Decriminalisation prevents trafficking and abuse
We support the full decriminalisation of sex work as a proven approach to building resilience against trafficking for sexual exploitation. The Nordic Model — sometimes called the Swedish Model, the Entrapment Model, or the Equality Model — is not decriminalisation. It criminalises clients while leaving sex workers exposed to the same stigma, discrimination, and harm. Evidence shows it causes harm to both sex workers and victims of exploitation.
Clearer legal distinctions between consensual adult sex work and crimes like human trafficking save lives. Until those distinctions exist in law, we will continue to advocate for them.
Reporting a policy violation
If you believe a user, a member of our team, a contractor, or any third party doing business on our behalf has violated this policy, please tell us:
Email:legal@theotherboard.com
We coordinate with relevant stakeholders to investigate. If a report is substantiated, we will take corrective action — up to and including account termination and referral for legal action.
