Getting Started

Provider Application

To advertise on TheOtherBoard, you must first complete a provider application. This helps us maintain the quality and safety of our community.

The application process includes:

  • Basic account information
  • Age verification (must be 21+)
  • Agreement to our terms and guidelines
  • Initial profile information

Approval Time

Most applications are reviewed within 24-48 hours. You'll receive an email once your application is approved.

Verification Process

Verification helps build trust with potential clients. Verified providers often receive more inquiries and can command higher rates.

  • Email verification
  • Photo verification
  • Identity confirmation

Creating Your Profile

Writing an Effective Bio

Your bio is your chance to make a great first impression. Here's how to write one that converts:

Do

  • Be authentic and let your personality shine
  • Highlight what makes you unique
  • Mention your interests and hobbies
  • Describe the experience you offer
  • Use proper grammar and spelling
  • Keep it concise but informative

Don't

  • Copy bios from other providers
  • Use all caps or excessive punctuation!!!
  • Include explicit service descriptions
  • Make claims you can't back up
  • Leave it blank or too short
  • Include contact info in the bio

Setting Rates & Services

Be clear and upfront about your rates. You can choose to display rates on your profile or discuss them privately - both approaches have merit.

Pricing Strategy

Research comparable providers in your area to understand market rates. Your pricing should reflect your experience, services, and the quality you offer.

Location & Contact Settings

Configure your location and contact preferences:

  • Location: Set your primary city and any touring locations
  • Incall/Outcall: Specify which you offer
  • Contact Methods: Add preferred contact methods
  • Screening Requirements: Specify your screening process

Photo Gallery Management

Photo Guidelines

High-quality photos are essential for attracting clients. Follow these guidelines:

  • Quality: Use well-lit, clear photos (no blurry or dark images)
  • Accuracy: Photos must accurately represent you (recent photos only)
  • Variety: Include different poses, outfits, and settings
  • Face Photos: Optional - many providers show face, many don't
  • Compliance: Must follow our content guidelines (no explicit images in main gallery)

Uploading Photos

To upload photos:

  1. Go to your Provider Dashboard
  2. Click "Photo Gallery" or "Manage Photos"
  3. Click "Upload" and select your images
  4. Set your primary profile photo
  5. Arrange photos in your preferred order

Your profile photo is the main image shown on cards and search results. Choose your best, most representative photo.

Your gallery photos are additional images viewers see on your full profile. Use these to show more of your personality and look.

Photo Privacy

Consider watermarking your photos to prevent unauthorized use elsewhere. Never include identifying information like visible addresses or license plates in background.

Visibility & Boost System

How Placement Works

The directory is one grid. Boosted providers sit at the top of that grid for the duration of their boost; everyone else follows in fairly-rotated order. Boost is the only signal that affects placement.

Tier 1

Top of the grid

While your boost is active, your card sits at the top tier of the directory grid. There's no separate "boosted" badge — placement is the entire benefit. Boost windows are 2h on Base, 3h on Plus/Pro (extendable to 4h).

Tier 2

Fairly rotated

When you're not boosted, your card appears in the main pool, ordered by a fair 5-minute rotation seed so everyone gets a turn near the top. Still fully searchable and filterable.

The "Available Now" Badge

Separate from boost. The green "Available Now" badge is a public signal that you're actively accepting requests — you control it. Flip it on as an opt-in checkbox when you start a boost, or use the dashboard quick-availability toggle to set it independently with an auto-expiry. Don't leave it on when you're not around — clients filter for it specifically.

Using Boosts Effectively

Maximize the value of your boosts:

  • Timing: Boost during peak browsing hours (evenings, weekends)
  • Availability: Only flip on the Available Now badge when you can actually respond
  • Consistency: Regular boosting keeps you visible to regular browsers
  • Profile Ready: Make sure your profile is complete before boosting

Managing Inquiries

Reading & Responding to Messages

Quick, professional responses convert inquiries into appointments:

  • Check messages regularly, especially when boosted
  • Respond to serious inquiries promptly
  • Be professional and warm in your communication
  • Provide clear information about next steps

Screening Clients

Screening is essential for your safety. Common screening methods include:

  • References: Contact from other verified providers
  • Employment Verification: Confirming workplace via official channels
  • ID Verification: Photo ID matching the person
  • Deposits: Requiring partial payment upfront

Never Skip Screening

No amount of money is worth compromising your safety. Legitimate clients understand and respect screening procedures. Anyone who refuses to screen is not worth your time.

Blocking & Reporting

You can block users who are disrespectful, harassing, or make you uncomfortable. Blocked users cannot message you or view your profile.

Report serious violations (threats, harassment, illegal requests) using the report function. We take all reports seriously.

Reviews & Reputation

Why Reviews Matter

Reviews are social proof that helps potential clients trust you. Providers with positive reviews often receive more inquiries and can command premium rates.

Getting Reviews

How to encourage reviews:

  • Provide an excellent experience worthy of a good review
  • Politely remind satisfied clients that reviews help you
  • Make it easy by directing them to your profile
  • Never offer compensation for reviews (against our policies)

Responding to Reviews

You can respond to reviews publicly. Best practices:

  • Positive Reviews: Thank the reviewer graciously
  • Constructive Feedback: Acknowledge and show you're listening
  • Negative Reviews: Stay professional, don't get defensive

Subscription Plans

TheOtherBoard offers three subscription tiers:

  • Base ($85/month) — 1 boost per day (2 hours each), 1 city, basic analytics
  • Plus ($99/month) — 3 boosts per day (3 hours each), 1 city, enhanced analytics with daily trends
  • Pro ($119/month) — 3 boosts per day (3 hours each), up to 5 cities for touring, premium analytics, Pro badge

Frequently Asked Questions

Most applications are reviewed within 24-48 hours. You'll receive an email when your account is approved. Incomplete applications may take longer.

Yes! You can set your profile to "Hidden" in your settings. Your profile won't appear in search results or to other users until you make it visible again.

Go to Profile Settings and update your location. You can also add touring dates and locations. Remember to update it when you return home!

Report it immediately using our Contact Form or file a DMCA takedown request. We take photo theft seriously.

Our messaging system is for making introductions and arrangements. All actual service agreements happen off-platform between consenting adults.
