Introduction
TheOtherBoard uses Bitcoin payments to protect your privacy. Unlike credit cards, Bitcoin transactions don't appear on bank statements or create records linking you to our platform. It's actually simpler than it sounds, and you can be ready to pay in just a few minutes.
Why Bitcoin?

No bank statements or credit card records linking to our platform.
Secure
Encrypted transactions that can't be reversed or disputed.
Discreet
No awkward billing descriptors to explain.
Fast
Payments confirm in minutes, not days.
Recommended Apps
Here are the easiest ways to buy Bitcoin and make your payment. We recommend Cash App for most people - it's the simplest option with the lowest fees.
Cash App
- Buy Bitcoin instantly with debit card
- Low fees (1.5-2%)
- Send Bitcoin directly from app
- Most people already have it
Venmo
- Buy crypto in the app
- Use existing Venmo balance
- Familiar interface
- Slightly higher fees
PayPal
- Buy crypto if you have PayPal
- Use linked bank account
- Can't send to external wallets directly
- Need to transfer to another app first
Coinbase
- Largest crypto exchange
- Many payment options
- More complex interface
- Higher fees for small amounts
Cash App: Step-by-Step Guide
Download Cash App from the App Store or Google Play. Create an account with your phone number or email.
Tap the Bitcoin tab (the icon looks like a "B") and follow the prompts to verify your identity. This usually takes just a few minutes and only needs to be done once.
Link your debit card or bank account. Debit cards work instantly; bank transfers take 1-3 days but have lower fees.
Tap the Bitcoin tab, then "Buy." Enter the amount you need (check your subscription total on TheOtherBoard). Add a few extra dollars to cover network fees.
When you checkout on TheOtherBoard, you'll see a Bitcoin address and QR code. In Cash App, tap "Send" on the Bitcoin tab, scan the QR code shown on our checkout page (or copy/paste the Bitcoin address), enter the exact amount shown, and confirm.
Your payment will be detected within a few minutes. The page will automatically update when payment is confirmed. This usually takes 10-30 minutes.
Tips for Success
Bitcoin transactions include small network fees. We recommend buying 5-10% more than your subscription cost to ensure you have enough to complete the payment.
For the smoothest experience, buy your Bitcoin before starting the checkout process. Payment pages expire after a set time, so having Bitcoin ready means no rushing.
Always verify you're sending to the correct Bitcoin address. Using the QR code scanner is the safest option as it eliminates typos.
Bitcoin transactions need to be confirmed by the network. This usually takes 10-30 minutes but can occasionally take longer during busy periods. Don't worry - your payment is safe.
If your payment doesn't seem to go through, don't panic! Contact our support team with your transaction details and we'll help sort it out.
Common Questions
Not at all! If you can use Venmo or Cash App, you can use Bitcoin. The first time takes about 10 minutes to set up, and after that it's just a few taps to send payment.
There are two types of fees:
- Purchase fees: Cash App charges about 1.5-2% when you buy Bitcoin. For a $100 purchase, that's about $1.50-2.00.
- Network fees: Bitcoin transactions include a small network fee (usually $1-5) that goes to process the transaction.
Overall, expect to pay about $3-7 in total fees for a typical subscription payment.
Since Bitcoin transactions can't be reversed, we don't refund to your wallet. However, if there's an issue with your subscription, we can provide account credit such as:
- Extending your subscription time
- Adding extra boosts to your account
Contact us if you have any issues and we'll work something out.
Any Bitcoin you don't spend stays in your wallet. You can use it for your next subscription renewal, convert it back to cash, or just hold onto it.
Just start the checkout process again. If you already sent Bitcoin to an expired address, contact support with your transaction details and we'll help resolve it.
Your bank will see a purchase from "Cash App" or whichever app you used, but it won't mention Bitcoin, TheOtherBoard, or anything identifying. It looks like any other Cash App transaction.
